I am a first-gen tejana and daughter of Mexican immigrants. My parents always wanted me to go to college and build a career, but none of us knew anything about the college admissions process when I was in high school.  I had to teach myself how to fill out the FAFSA form, apply for scholarships, figure out the meaning of a degree plan...it was like learning a new language on a different planet!  So many first-gen students get discouraged and give up on their college and career dreams because they have no one to guide them through this unfamiliar world. As a college professor, I have spent over 15 years working with first-gen students just like you.  I help students edit undergraduate and graduate application essays, resumes, and scholarship applications.  I guide students in selecting a college major and minor and I help students develop the skills they need to succeed in college and in their careers.  My goal is to see my students succeed...¡Vamos a triunfar!
